Hi There,
I was so excited to share this new tip with you that as i am typing i am still halfway through my cheeky little chocolate treat… nom nom nom!
I was cruzin the world of Pinterest yesterday when i found a pin called “Brownie in a Mug” from Go Promos. As luck would have it my stars aligned today and i find myself amidst a cold rainy day outside with a sleeping bubba warm inside (ah bliss!). So why not give it a try i thought. I have to admit my expectations were pretty low. I have only tried a ‘cake in a cup’ type recipe once before. That recipe called for an egg and left me feeling as though i was eating a chocolate ommelette. yuck!
This recipe however has left me pleasantly surprised. It was the easiest thing in the world to make, i had everything in my pantry, no eggs were needed yay and the best part is it genuinely tastes great!! See the recipe below as taken straight from Go Promos. I think these guys have done a great job coming up with an easy cheeky treat for those days when us mumma’s need a pick me up. Next time i plan to halve the sugar and not put any salt just because although absolutely delicious it was very sweet so i reckon i don’t need all the sugar plus i really hate adding salt to anything! But thats just me. I totally recommend you give this a go exactly as Go Promos suggest and then maybe tweak it to your liking. I am even going to add a few choc chips next time. oooh heaven! Just a note, the mug is seriously hot when it comes out of the microwave so be careful and let it sit for a minute before you tuck into it.
Brownie In a Mug
recipe by Go Promos
- 1/4 cup SR Flour
- 1/4 cup sugar (i used raw caster sugar)
- 2 tbsp. cocoa powder
- tiny pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp. Olive Oil
- 3 tbsp. Spring Water (i just used good old free tap water)
- ice cream (optional but oh so recommended!)
- Add your dry ingredients into your mug of choice
- Next add the oil and water
- Stir until a smooth consistency is obtained
- Cook in the microwave for 1 min 40 sec
- Be careful removing from microwave as its very hot.
- Top with ice-cream if desired and enjoy. How easy is that? Yummo!
Now you will have to excuse me, i am off to finish my microwave brownie before Master H wakes up. Yum yum yum!
Until next time
Mumma Mel xx

Sounds yummy I will have to give it a go, maybe a suppertime treat tonight,
